Unexpected Visit

Hikari sat on a rock in the Shortcut. She illuminated where she was sitting with a fireball she held in her hand.

"You know, you seem to be alone quite a lot," Korari's voice echoed from a tree limb not too far from Hikari. He was nonchalantly lying against the trunk of a tree with his eyes closed. "Why is that?"

Hikari didn't look at Korari. "Calms the mind." She said. "Why do you just so happen to be wherever I am?"

Slowly, he turned his head to face her. "I already told you. I like to keep tabs on who I'm up against. I've just made my rounds and come back to you. I guess you could say I'm a stalker." He suddenly grinned. "Or you could just say it's a coincidence."

Hikari still didn't look at Korari. Her orange eyes seemed to glow in the poor light.

He watched her silently for what seemed like forever before he sighed. "I mean, it's whatever you prefer." After a few more minutes elapsed, he looked back down at her. "Why do you seem to be mad all the time? Or at least aggravated..."

"Only when I'm around you." Hikari said coldly.

"Ouch. Great burn. Heh, see what I did thar? You.. you control fyr.. yeeaaa.." He merely smiled. "Oh really? I irritate you that much? Hmph." He finally jumped out of the tree and landed on the ground silently as his smile turned into a smirk. "Can't you just give me a chance? I could be a better person, you know."

"Why would I trust you?" Hikari said, finally looking at him, but in a cold glance. "You're the enemy."

"Oh, but I don't have to be," He pointed out quickly. "Besides, apparently some of your little group trust me... If she's even part of your group. Oh, little Jasmine. It breaks my heart to see her so clueless." Suddenly he started to laugh. "Actually, it's quite funny. Do you know her?"

"Barely." Hikari said. "I only see her around. I don't talk to her."

"Interesting. But still. I'm not all bad. I mean, I can be when I want to be, but I can be nice too," He said, trying to convince her at least a little.

"I highly doubt that." Hikari said. "Prove it."

He raised an eyebrow as he tried to think of something. "Well, tell me to do something--anything--and I will do it. How bout that?" He offered.

"Hmm..." Hikari said. She thought for a while.

After a few minutes, he crossed his arms in front of his chest and leaned back. "Well?" He asked. "Have you thought of anything?"

Hikari thought of an idea. "Go around and do nice things for other people." Hikari said. "Random people, even if they're mean."

Instantly, Korari started to laugh as he heard what she said. "You can't be serious!" He shouted before looking back at her. "You aren't, are you?"

"I'm serious." Hikari said in a small smirk. "And by the way, laughing and shouting at someone isn't very nice."

He suddenly narrowed his eyes at her before a soft growl escaped his throat. "Oh sh*t. It's bad enough I have to deal with a baby--" He froze before gaining control of himself. "I'm sorry. Fine. I will accept your challenge, but I can't tell you how long it will last."

"I thought I were to decide that." Hikari said. "I'm the one who dared you after all."

"Yes, but the thing about it is that you can't control my self control. Who knows when I'll snap," He replied as a small grin appeared on his face.

"I'll be watching you." Hikari said.

His grin suddenly disappeared as quick as it came. "Oh really? So now I'm going to have my own personal stalker?"
