Benjamin had been flying all around Skyshatter thinking about everything that has happened in the past few months. Half of Skyshatter had been taken over and lost in almost an instant, Mika was murdered, and once again he was alone... forever. It bothered him greatly that she was gone. After he had found out, it felt as if his heart was being ripped out of his chest even though they hadn't really known each other for very long.
"Gah!" He said suddenly before moving his wings into just the right position to where he shot up higher and higher into the sky. Why can't I get over it?! Closing his eyes, he finally leveled himself out so that he was flying parallel to the ground once more. After a few minutes had gone by, something rumbled through the sky. Looking up, he suddenly found himself heading straight toward a large, dark storm cloud. It was rare to see one where he was at, but it wasn't impossible. Without having any time to dodge the giant cloud, he rammed right into it immediately getting lost in the fog. Now, everywhere he looked he saw nothing but dark gray and small drops of vapor that stuck to his clothes and weighed him down immensely. Struggling to find his sense of direction and to stay up in the air, Benjamin continued on in hopes that he would soon get out of this mess.
As he flew through the cloud, it continued to weigh him down. It was getting harder and harder to fly due to the fact that he was now drenched and his wings were hurting from moving so much. He had to make it through.. He just had to.
Suddenly, something fell hard and bounced off his back. Crying out in pain, he looked up to see hail at least the size of golf balls falling down all around him. Some pieces hit his back while a lot hit his already sore wings. In order to avoid being pelted, Benjamin immediately started to fly higher to try to break through the cloud that way. Unfortunately, the moment he looked up, a piece of hail, larger than any he had seen yet, nailed him perfectly on the forehead, knocking him unconscious. Quickly he fell, falling faster and faster as he neared the ground. Almost immediately, he broke through the bottom of the cloud until the ground was in view. Benjamin opened his eyes only slightly to see a field of green rushing towards him faster than he had ever gone while he was flying. Knowing it must have been the ground, he tried to open his wings to stop himself but for some reason, his body wouldn't respond. As he realized he couldn't move, a small smile spread across his face. So this is my fate... He thought. Well, it was good while it lasted.
Suddenly the ground was 20 feet, 10 feet, 5 feet, 2 feet away... then his world went black. A loud ring, almost like a gunshot sounded around him but that was the last thing he heard.
Benjamin... was no more.
