Training in the Dark

It worked, by the way. He was still watching her, fortunately, so he saw it coming. Unfortunately, Nina was a tad bit faster than him. He lost his balance and struggled to gain it. Once he did, he spun back towards her.

Unfortunately for Nina, landing that blow had slowed her down. She tried to gain her momentum again to try to get out of the way, but it was too late so instead, she braced herself.

Alex regained his footing and wasted no time throwing a punch at Nina's throat. He didn't see a reason to go easy on her, partly because she was the teacher and a better fighter, and partly to prove himself to her.

Thankfully, Nina had just enough time duck slightly so instead of him hitting her throat, he hit her forehead and knocked her back quite a few feet. As she saw the ground coming towards her, though, she quickly rebounded so that she was able to land back on her feet. When she felt comfortable enough to stand up again, she rubbed her head. "Nice job," She complemented.

Alex smiled, practically shining with pride. "Thanks." He panted. He really should've brought water.

She smiled slightly and rubbed her head. That last blow was starting to give her a headache. "Alright. I think that's enough for tonight. You've actually impressed me." As she spoke, Nina sat down next to a tree she had landed beside and took a few deep breaths.

Alex flashed her a smile. "Jee thanks aunt Nina." He waited awkwardly for a moment.
