Sweat pooled between the pink hairs of her brows as she tried to summon her super speed. Every shred of her being willed it to be conjured, but something...or someone was holding it back, preventing her from escaping what was chasing her. Her legs grew weak and unstable. "This can't be happening," she repeated to herself. "This...just can't be happening."

Shade watched the stranger speed by. He wondered what was happening, causing the girl to run. "E-Excuse me?" He said, slightly confused. "Why are you running?"

The voice startled her. She was snapped out of her delusion-driven run and fell to the ground, her pink hair going everywhere. Still fazed, she backed up, staring at the stranger. "Who...who are you?"

"Answer my question first." Shade said, voice showing barely any emotion at all. He stared at the girl with peircing red eyes.

Her breath became shaky as she bit her knuckle from nervousness. "I'm...Rita..." She felt pierced by his piercing eyes. (:3) She stared at her feet, gathering her legs in her arms. "Now..." Her voice became low and unsure. "Who are you?"

"My name is Shade." He addressed. "Nice to meet you. Now why exactly were you running?"

She touched her chest and finally caught her breath, a faint smile painting her fine, pink lips. "I was...having a nightmare." She let out a breathy laugh and smiled towards him. "Shade. You normally encounter crazy girls running through the woods?"

She let out a hearty laugh. "I haven't laughed about anything in a while." She smiled again at him and got herself up. "What brings you here on this side of the woods?"

Rita sighed then corrected herself. "Usually, when I encounter vampires, they're in a group. Some, of course, roam around solo, but, from where I'm from in these woods, we travel together in pacts." She rose her eyebrow in a questioning manner. "Why do you travel alone?"

Nina watched the new girl and Shade converse as she sat above them silently. After listening to the start of their conversation, she hopped down and gracefully landed on her feet. "That is rather strange. I know I used to live with my parents and brother-" she hesitated a moment. It was still a touchy subject even when she brought it up. "But packs as in more than one family is a little odd. Where exactly are you from?" She asked Rita.

Rita's eyes went wide as she stared at Nina, taking in her physical features with her huge, red eyes before answering, "My father and my family were travelling along the vampire woods shortly after...some events." She played with the tips of her hair, obviously trying to conceal something from her story. "My father's family are always close. It's sort of fashioned like a coven in a sense."

"That sounds fun. A lot of people around here roam alone, but not always. I think it's more fun in a group." A teen boy's light voice called from above. He had stayed consealed in the trees while everyone talked, but once Nina joined in he figured it was safe. He let his feet dangle as he sat on a branch and watched from above with wide, excited red eyes.

Rita's perplexed nature caused her to question what Shade thought she was up to. "Oh no! I wasn't captured! I...had a nightmare...and it caused me to run through the woods." She absorbed the details of her surroundings with saddened eyes. "I don't quite know exactly where I am." She bit her lip, not willing to return after what happened, so she stared at Shade with hopeful eyes. "May you...take me in temporarily? Until I can navigate myself around?"

Rita's cheeks grew to a dark crimson as she recalled terrible memories. "Well, my...my brother was...executed last...last week... In front of me..." She stared down again, praying to false idols that her sentence would render everyone speechless so she could avoid answering any more personal questions.
