Destiny's not going to be forever alone! -open-

Destiny sat on the edge of a dock staring out into the lake's graceful water. It was early in the evening and there was a faint trace of stars spotting the sky. She liked this lake because it had the same name as her, it was a pretty stupid reason, but she would settle with it for now.

Jason had been venturing around Skyshatter lately, enjoying his new freedom now that he was older and his parents were less protective. Yes, the poor guy was awesome and lived with his parents :'D /shot. One place, though, that he had wanted to see for quite some time was Destiny Lake. He had only been there a few times and it was so pretty when he was younger; he was hoping it was the same as how he remembered it. As he walked up to the lake, he found the dock that hovered over the water, but there was a figure sitting on it. As he got closer, he finally could see that it was another person, but he or she seemed to be quite alone out there by themselves. With a smile, he walked across the dock until he was only a few feet away from the girl. "Hey there," he said to her with a smile on his face.

Destiny was caught off guard and jumped slightly. She turned her head around and stayed quiet for a moment. "Who are you?" She finally asked.

When Jason saw the girl jump in front of him, he immediately involuntarily took a step backwards as to reassure her that he didn't mean any harm or intent on harm at least. He had stayed quiet just as long as she did until her voice finally broke the silence, this time catching him off guard. As she asked the question, Jason's right hand moved to the back of his head, scratching his neck nervously as if she were accusing him of something, but mainly, he just didn't want to make this girl uncomfortable. "I-I'm Jason. Jason Harvey. And what's your name?" he asked politely.

Destiny stood up, facing the boy still, as she straightened out her shirt. "Destiny Landau." She replied semi-formally, trying not to make the boy as nervous.

As she stood up, Jason finally calmed down. At least she seemed to want to talk some. "It's nice you meet you, Destiny," he said with a smile. "So what did you come here for?" The question was simply meant to be curious, and he hoped he didn't sound too rude asking.

Destiny blinked. She thought of a way to explain herself without sounding like a goof. "It's pretty here." She replied, "How about you?"

Honestly, the thought hadn't really crossed his mind. Why was he here? With a shrug, he glanced around at the lake and its shore. The sun was hitting it just right to give everything that orange glow that was so beautiful. "Yeah, I guess that's why I'm here too. It's so comforting," he responded, walking to the very edge of the dock and sitting down with his feet dangling just above the water's surface. "The sun just sets the whole scene, though."

Destiny smiled. "You know what they say, you can't have one without the other." She commented, looking out at the vast view from where she had sat.

"I agree!" Jason replied, smiling at the beautiful sunset that was laid out in front of them. After a few moments of silence went by, though, he had to create some kind of conversation. So, of course, he blurted the first thing that came to his mind. "So what's your ability?"

Destiny was watching the current in the water. It always calmed her, and she had felt one with it. "Water caster." She had replied.

"Wow really?" He replied with a sense of shock in his voice. She was one of the first water casters he had met. "That's so cool! Because I'm a water caster too!" He was rather excited and it was obvious. He suddenly had a goofy grin on his face as he seemed to jump up and down in his spot on the dock. "How well can you control your powers?"

Destiny looked at him and smiled, then looked down at her hands. "Not too good." She said in a low voice. She was good at everything else but not water casting, which made her frustrated with herself.

"Really?" Jason asked, finally feeling glad that he wasn't the only one that had troubles. I mean, he felt sorry that she was so frustrated about it, but she wasn't alone. "I can't really control my powers either."

Destiny turned her head to face him, feeling a bit of joy in his words. "Maybe we can teach each other and learn to become the best water casters in all of Skyshatter!" She said, then turned her head again. A childish idea, Destiny thought.
