Just Another Day...

It was just another day in the life of the Windtwn Park. People were playing, dogs were running, it was like a big party that was slowly starting to die away as the sun began to set, although it was still rather high in the air for Kiyan to be casually walking around like nobody's business. With his nice warm jacket, worn out jeans, and his little hat on his head, he was ready for any kind of weather it seemed, and the sun. Although, he wished that he would have grabbed his sunglasses. As he walked around the part, he finally came to an empty bench and plopped down into it. Man, it didn't seem like he had anything better to do in his life other than plop down on benches...

Lupa was also in the park, taking a stroll away from her family for once. As she passed people, she nodded to them, appearing friendly and relaxed, but she was always on alert, scanning people's faces in almost an instant for any signs of danger. This was an old habit she had formed when she first came back to civilization, and she never felt the need to break it. But when she scanned over the face of a boy sitting on one of the many benches of the park, she felt a spark of recognition. A face she hadn't seen, but Tala had showed her... Now Lupa had been looking too long. She turned away and kept walking, hoping he hadn't noticed.

"Rita. You're shivering." A wicked smile played on the ends of Paradox's lips as he tipped his top hat to a stranger in passing, attempting to convey a veil of normalcy. "I thought we mentioned this before, darling."

Rita averted her eyes from the crowd in favor of staring at the ground, hoping to avoid eye contact with anyone. No matter how many times Paradox reminded her about the deal they struck up years ago, it didn't keep her mind form wondering how things would have been if she resisted the delicious temptation Paradox offered then.

If only...

What a weird day this had already turned out to be in a matter of only a couple of minutes. Just after Kiyan had found himself sitting on the bench, he glanced around to do a little bit of people watching only to find himself being stared at by a young woman he had never seen before, although the longer he looked at her, the more familiar her face became, and then not a moment after that, a guy with a top hat? Kiyan didn't think this day could get any weirder. It was like walking right into a mystery show. Everyone was suspicious. "What in the world is going on here?" he mumbled to himself at each passing person.

Right at the moment Rita decided to lift her head from the ground, she noticed a man sitting on the bench. For some reason or another, she found him to be incredibly fascinating. There was something about him that put her at ease and heightened her interest. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but it was there, entrancing her in his gaze. Upon one gaze, she could accurately define him - vampire. However, there was more to him, and she knew it.

"Rita...what did I tell you about staring? It's not polite." He faced the man Rita was staring at and tipped his hat to him as well, trying to dissolve any hints that something was happening.

Tipping hats? That was strange. It was like he was being watched almost everywhere he went! At first, he didn't really mind it but now it was just getting creepy. After a moment, he suddenly stood up, his words practically pointing out Lupa, Rita, and Paradox. "Alright what is going on here?" He demanded as he took a moment to glance at each person. "I know I might be good-looking, but you people don't have to keep staring at me!" His tone was more out of annoyance, but at the same time, the young man couldn't help but feel a little paranoid. It wasn't a natural feeling for him, but lately, everyone seemed to be getting on his nerves rather easily.
