Cai has a new sword

Cai was in his apartment, in his own little battle practicing station. In his hand was a new sword, half wood, half steel. He swung around, attacking wooden dummies on all sides of him. He felt a rush of adrenaline as he attacked the "evil" targets.

There was a knock on the door. "Cai? It's Akira!" She said from behind the door.

Cai stopped when he heard the knock. He walked over to the door, sword still in his hand, and opened it. "Hey, come on in" he said, stepping to the side.

Akira walked into his house. She had the dagger in her hand that she and Cai bought yesterday. "I was wondering if we could train together." She said.

"Sure. I've got a set-up over there. I was just training myself," he said, walking back to the wooden dummies.

Akira slowly walked to one of the wooden dummies and held her dagger and slashed it. "Was that good?" She asked.

"Yes, but you need to move a little faster. In battle, you'll need to act fast if you want to stay alive" he said, slashing another dummy, then imediatly swinging to anotherone and toppling it over with a hit under the arm.

"Okay.." She said, preparing to do a move on 3 of the training dummys. She quickly slashed one while kicking the other one in the face then stabbing the third. "Like that?" She asked.

"Good!" Cai exclaimed. She was coming along nicely.

Akira smiled and practiced some more. She surely wasn't going to let them take over Skyshatter and fill it with darkness.

Cai practiced beside her, twisting in complicated movements without even being in danger of hitting Akira. He was enjoying this.

After awhile, Akira stopped practicing. "Phew, I'm tired." She said.

"Alright, we'll take a break." Cai said, finishing off a complex pattern. He went to get them some water.

Akira sat down on Cai's couch. She put her dagger on a table next to it.

Cai had left his sword on the counter in his kitchen. He came out with two glasses of water, and sat down next to Akira, handing her a glass.

"Thanks." She said before taking a sip. "So.. how did you learn to sword fight?" Akira asked.

"My father taught me and Osi the same way I'm teaching you. My father was excellent. I couldn't even match his skill," Cai said proudly.

Akira looked to the floor and remembered her father. She closed her eyes for a few moments.

Cai was also silent. His father had only died recently, when the police went after him.

The memory of blood everywhere appeared. She quickly opened her eyes.

"You okay?" Cai asked, concern for his friend shining in his eyes.

"It's uh, nothing.." She replied, shaking the thought out of her head.

"Okay. Are you ready to work some more?" Cai asked. He was still concerened, but he didn't want to push Akira.

Akira nodded. "Yep! I'm going to make sure those people stay out of Skyshatter for good!" She said.

"Good" Cai said, smiling. He stood up and went to grab his sword.
