You know what today is~

Cai felt a little hope as he heard a familiar voice. "Yeah, you could say that," Cai called, " we're in the bow section." He kept his eyes on Liyra though, just because I think it'd look a little cuter and I'm not supposed to be talking like this so I'll shut up now.

John quickly hurried to where they were then got down beside the two. "Ok Liyra listen to me. This is you're first baby so it's going to take a long time, I'm going to give you something for the pain." John said as he reached in his medical bag and pulled out a morphine syrette.

"No! I-I don't w-ant it!" Liyra shouted as she knocked the syrette from Johns grip, causeing it to fly out of his hand and slide under a set of shelves.

Cai had moved away from Liyra so John could do his work, but he was still holding onto her hand. He frowned as she knocked the syrette away from John. But for once, Cai did something smart and didn't try to tell her to take the meds. Instead, he just said in a lower tone to John, so she wouldn't hear, "She didn't even want to go to the hospital. I'm not surprised that she'd refuse the pain killer too."

John looked concerned but nodded in understanding.

Just then Liyra gripped Cai's hand tightly as her back arched and she screamed out in pain.

John felt Liyra's belly to check how far along she was, he seemed a little supprised, "Cai I need you to go get some soft towels or a blanket or something."

Cai winced as Liyra screamed, but he nodded in response to John. He squeezed Liyra's hand tightly before letting go. "I'll be right back," he said before rushing off to find the towels.

"Ok now Liyra I need you to focus on me, I'm here and I'm going to help you through this. I'm a doctor. Now I need you to take a few deep breaths then I'm going to count to three, on three I want to to push ok." John explained as if he had rehersed it.

Liyra listened and took a few deep breaths.

"Ok, come on now you can do this Liyra. 1,2,3 Push!" John said as Liyra gripped his hand tightly and pushed as hard as she could.

It went on like this for a while untill he could tell that the pain was absolutely unbearable, he knew then where she was in her labour, "ok Liyra you need to stop pushing now or you're going to hurt yourself, little breaths, short breaths ok." John said before demonstrateing, he then turned to Lydia, "Please go and tell Cai to hurry up ok. Tell him the baby's nearly born." John explained.

Lydia nodded and quickly went to go tell Cai.

Cai was finally on his way back after rushing around looking for towels or blankets. As he returned, he carried an armful of towels. "I'm here, I'm here, " he said, "what do you need me to do with these?"

"take the softest ones and fold them up to form a soft place for the baby to lay on as it's comeing out oh and be sure to keep some to help clean the baby off with and keep it warm.
Lydia, I'm going to need you to go to the nearest resturant and ask for a pot of warm water. Oh and Cai, and I can't belive I'm saying this but pull your wifes pants off. how do you expect her to give birth with those in the way." John explained.

Cai did exactly what John told him to do.

As soon as Cai took of Liyra's pants you could see the baby's head pokeing out. Liyra just kept takeing short rapid breaths like she was instructed as the baby slowly came out on it's own.

Lydia managed to come back right as the baby was born, John carefully picked up the fragile little bundle and took a look at the crying newborn, "It's a girl!" John announced as he gently handed the baby off to the new mom laying on the floor.

Liyra held the baby girl in her arms and craned her neck to look and it, "Look Cai.. It's out little girl." Liyra managed to say before passing out.

Cai just kind of sat there, not quite sure what to do. He smiled as he learned the baby was a girl. He looked on as Liyra held the baby. "Yeah, she is," he said quietly....and a few seconds later, Liyra passed out, and Cai's smile dropped. "She'll be fine, right?" he asked John, "she's just worn out, right?"

"Yeah normally if she had given birth in a hospital she would be absolutely fin and so would thae baby but as you can probably tell I don't do a lot of home births which is why it's imperative that we get her to a hospital right now." John said as he got up and went to call for an ambulance.

About a minute or so later an ambulance came and took them to the hospital where Liyra and the new born baby were taken care of.
