Don't really know what to call this one.

Cai had promised himself he wouldn't cry, he wouldn't break down here in front of everyone. But despite his resolve, he couldn't stop a few silent tears streaking down his face at seeing his daughter lying dead. Though her body wasn't as mangled as it had been earlier, it still looked painful, and he knew Leyla's death hadn't been anything but sheer pain and terror.

Leyla still couldn't move very well, and was very confused when whatever was beneath her moved. At this point, she had grow tired and closed her eyes, stopped moving. So, as a result, she looked quite dead there when her body was revealed.

Liyra didnt have as srong as a resolve as cai and imediatly broke down and felto he knees and began sobbing into her hands.

Leyla could now hear more clearly, and she could tell her mother was crying. For some reason, she was too tired to open her eyes, though she desperately wanted to see her mother, who could hopefully ease her pain. But she did manage to move a finger, but the movement was barely noticeable.

Of course, Cai saw the movement, and a faint hope registered in his brain, which was quickly stifled by the fact that if she was alive, Leyla would still be in excruciating pain. But he kept watching, and now he thought he saw her chest faintly rising and falling, the way it had just after the accident. He looked at John, who would either confirm or deny his thoughts.

john noticed Cai looking at him weirdly and decided that Cai wanted to be alone right now so John just quietly left the room.

Cai shook his head as John left the room, obviously he had been seeing things. As he looked back to his family to quiet Liyra, He noticed that Leyla's eyes were now open. And in them, he saw life. "Leyla?" he whispered, barely audible over Liyra's sobbing. But Leyla heard, and responded with another finger movement. Cai knew then, that his daughter had survived. He put a hand on his wife's shoulder. "Liyra, it's alright," he said, not wanting to say too much in case he was hallucinating.

"It's not alright! My daughter, OUR daughter is dead Cai! How could you even say that!?" Liyra snapped back hitting Cai's hand off her shoulder.

Cai didn't mind Liyra slapping his hand away; in fact, he didn't even feel it. He was more concerned with the words she was saying. "I..." he began, but couldn't continue, as Leyla was now trying to sit up and speak. "M-mom-ma?" she said in a trembling voice that was laced with pain and fear.

Liyra didnt respond, She just thought she was hearing things.

"Don't move or talk too much," Cai said quietly to Leyla, who seemed to understand. "O-kay". Now, Cai looked down at Liyra. "Liyra, please calm down and listen. Tell me I'm not hallucinating when I see that she's alive," he said.

"Stop it Cai! How could you even say something like thatl!" Liyra said angrily as she stood up to slap him.

Cai didn't try to stop Liyra from slapping him. But Leyla didn't quite appreciate what was going on, so she spoke up, though her father had told her to try not to speak. "Mom-my, what are you doing?" she asked innocently.

Liyra stopped cold after hearing a coherent sentence com from behind her in the voice of her dead daughter, she didn't have the heart or the emotional strength to turn around though. "B-But how? It's not..." Liyra said trailing off, her voice was merely a whisper but it was lout enough for Cai to hear.

A small smile crossed Cai's face, "So I'm not crazy," he said, just loud enough for her to hear. "Forevers," he said a little more audibly, stepping closer to Liyra, "hibernate at a near-death level," he continued. "Until their bodies have healed enough to wake up." Now he had pulled Liyra into a hug, not caring if she wanted the physical contact or not.

"But.." Liyra said, she was still confused at how her daughter could be a forever.

"But nothing," he said, "she's alive. That's what's important. right?"

Liyra slowly started to turn around to look, affraid that it was a dream or nightmare or that she was going insane from grief, "Sweetheart?" Liyra asked before turning around fully

Leyla was now struggling to sit up, but she still managed to respond to her mother. "Y-yes m-mommy?"

Liyra turned around and imediatly started to cry again as she hugged her daugter tightly, "sweetheart, you're ok!" Liyra said happily

"Liyra, you'll hurt her if you do that," he said, stepping forward to pull his wife away. But Leyla let out a tiny squeal of pain at being touch so soon, which probably drove of Liyra before Cai had to say anything.

Liyra did let go for fear of hurting her daughter.

"She just needs a little longer to heal," Cai said, then turned around, looking for the door. "I'll get John; she needs to go back to the hospital," he continued before exiting to find his friend. Leyla just sat there, not really knowing what to do. Everything was confusing to her five-year-old mind, and she still didn't know where she was or why she was dead or alive or whatever they were talking about.

"Are you two ok Cai? Listen I know it must be tough especially because she was so young." John said appologeticly.

Cai shook his head. "No, we're fine. More importantly, she's fine. She's alive," he said, hoping he didn't sound like a deranged lunatic. "We need to get her in a hospital room now."

"Um Cai Are you sure you're ok?" John asked as he slowly started to inch towards the emergency phone.

Cai rolled his eyes. "I'm fine," he said, then noticed John moving towards the phone. "Oh, come on, really? You think I'm crazy, don't you?" he continued a little angrily.
