hey, it's Cai..with a sword...this doesn't look good

Akira nodded. "Yeah." She said.

"How is that..possible?" Cai wondered

Akira shrugged. "I dunno, but it's a miracle." She said.

Cai shook his head. "no, this has happened twice now; it can't be a miracle. i was dead," he said.

"Maybe the doctors would explain." Akira said, looking at the door.

Just then, the doctor came in. "we have some news... cai you're a forever."

Cai just stared at the doctor, his mouth half open.

Akira stared at the doctor, then Cai. "Well that's good. Now you won't be able to kill yourself anymore." She said sarcastically.

Cai didn't respond;he was too busy thinking about what the doctor had said.

Akira stayed quiet, waiting for Cai to talk.

"is this some sort of joke?" cai finally said, "how can i be a forever?"

"It is possible." Akira said to him, waiting for the doctors to explain the real reason.

Cai shook his head. "i don't think so, I'm just a Caster; it's not in my genes to be immortal," he said quietly.

The doctor spoke up then, "I ran a quick blood test, and, yes, you are a Forever, no doubt about it."

"Do you know what caused him to become one?" Akira asked the doctor.

The doctor shook his head, "no, that would require a longer test. it may be a mutation or a gene passed on by some great-great-grandparent."

Akira turned her head to Cai."Do you know what it might of been?" She asked.

"Nope," he said, bewildered.

"Well, I'll run another few tests. give me an hour or so," the doctor said and left.

Akira nodded as she watched the doctor leave, then turned her head back to Cai.

"What?" Cai asked her.

Akira narrowed her eyes at him. "Why did you try to kill yourself?" She replied back.

Cai sighed. "What do you think? I killed my own brother! I killed him!" Cai said.

"That doesn't mean.. you should kill yourself.." Akira said.

Cai sat up then and said," well, it was a little overwhelming, the grief, ya' know, and when I think that it was me that did it, I just couldn't take it anymore."

"I sort of understand what you feel like, but she wasn't related to me." Akira said.

Cai nodded and opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Instead, tears started to come, and he put his head in his hands, attempting to hide the fact that he was crying.

"Cai?.. what's wrong?" Akira asked, not noticing the tears.
